For example, in the northern regions of the country, the volume and turnover of road freight dropped by an average of 15%, in the eastern regions, the reduction in the same indicator reached 25%. More than 70% of the warehouse space was idle. The number of market participants decreased by more than a third.

However, the main players have managed to maintain their positions, conserve infrastructure, retain human resources and preserve the car fleet. It turns out that this was achieved due to a significant reorientation of the vector of services. Previously, transport services provided for large companies were the main priority, transportation of oversized goods and long-distance mass transportation were in high demand, but in times of crisis, individuals turned out to be the main consumer of motor transport services. It turns out that the volume of transportation in the interests of the population has even increased slightly over two difficult years. The range of services offered has also expanded significantly. Naturally, this has influenced the change of specialization of some carriers. Large transport companies were able not only to reorient, but also to supplement their fleets, expand their supply, and become more versatile. The crisis has also affected the cost of transportation. In the face of fierce competition, prices for road freight have decreased by more than 30%.

However, the economic situation has stabilized. Cargo turnover is growing again. And the surviving car transport starts to pick up speed again. It is quite significant that over the past six months, the volume of motor transport has increased by more than 30% compared to the previous year. The positive trend is primarily seen in international road transport. Industrial freight transportation is not far behind them. In the interests of large companies in various industries, the volume of shipments increased by almost a quarter. The transportation of oversized cargo for enterprises that have resumed construction is now in use.

Of course, the problems haven't disappeared in six months. It is still quite difficult to obtain loans for business development, and convenient leasing schemes still refuse to work. Storage areas are idle, and transport companies have begun to feel a shortage of rolling stock. But positive developments are evident, which means that the industry that has survived in the most difficult conditions will live and develop.
